Razed in Black
Sacrificed (Cleopatra Records)

By: DJ Dysdynia

This the third release from the Hawaiian industrial group, Razed In Black. The CD begins with an interesting web of low dismal keyboards and background sounds of someone being whipped. Do not be deceived the soothing sounds of slavery. The next track, "Caught" blares into loud guitars, solid beats and high BPM electronica. The beats laid in Sacrificed are faster, and dub. In-between the hard hitting songs the are interval tracks that consist of nothing but background movements that can range from odd to pornographic. Razed in Black has decided to continue the minimalistic use of distorted vocals that is also present in their previous releases, Overflow and Shrieks, Laments and Anguished Cries. For those who know Razed in Black this CD may be a bit too much on the techno side, but for others who enjoy later NIN, Birmingham 6 or Lights of Euphoria they will definitely be able relate to Sacrificed.
