Atomic InFlux
Sickened (Chaos City Records)

By: Jeb

I'd hate to pigeonhole this as "throwback" but, wow, I haven't heard stuff like this for years. This is raging, alcohol-fueled punk rock with kill-you-dead-on-contact femme fatale vocals. ATOMIC INFLUX is not locked into the past, but definitely inspired by everyone from THE PLASMATICS to THE BAGS to Australia's GASH to CHAOS UK to CHARGED GBH to PETER AND THE TEST TUBE BABIES. Stellar lyrics in the truest punk tradition look at social issues clouded by rage driven perspective. My only complaint is the throw away final tune which is nothing more than the band jamming around one hook for what seems like an eternity.
