Smarty Pants
Annoyager (Little Mafia Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Quirky, tongue-in-cheek rock 'n' roll that calls upon funk, rockabilly, pop, and other sounds to create their sound. Smarty Pants' Annoyager is the type of fun-lovin', party record you put on when you need a good laugh or want to have just kick-back, let your hair down and live in the moment. It's rock 'n' roll. It is stupid. It is immature. And it is even annoying. But, all those things make it the record it is, and if you took any of it away, it would be just another sterile rock band. Smarty Pants is anything but sterile though and Annoyager quickly proves that. They're lively; they're rock 'n' roll. I'll give it a C+.
