The Cinema Eye/Audion
Split CD (Sound Virus)

By: Alex Steininger

Four songs in fifteen minutes, The Cinema Eye and Audion both deliver two songs each (The Cinema Eye have the first two, Audion the remaining two).

Both bands' songs come and go quickly. But within that limited amount of time the bands are able to cram in a lot of energy. Playing new wave with a punk ferocity, and capturing the tension between adolescence and adulthood with loud drums, pain-stricken vocals (Cinema Eye has female vocals, Audion male), and synthesizers that play with your mind and make you feel as if you're on an acid trip.

The result is two solid, abrasive songs each that all shake you up and send shivers down your spine. Honestly, if it weren't for the different vocalists, you couldn't tell this was two separate bands. That's how eerily similar they are. I'll give this a C.
