 With the same blue-collar simplicity of Mellencamp, Charleston, SC-based Edwin McCain, with his band, recorded a record in Austin. And, with an Austin singer-songwriter flavor, a better city couldn't have been picked for McCain. The Austin Sessions is executed without a hitch as he takes us through twelve roots-y, folk-inspired, and country-tingled songs that are both lyrically and melodically strong, making the songs easy to remember, and even easier to listen to over and over again. McCain's warmth and positively is truly uplifting, as is The Austin Sessions. I'll give it a B.
