 John Danley's guitar playing is exquisite, as is showcased on Canvas + Rhythm, a compelling, heartening story where each song is a chapter in the book. And though it is an instrumental record, Danley uses his gift of music to tell a story (and explain it song by song on the inside flap), watching other people's lives and translating it into beautiful compositions that range in influences from blues to classical. I'll give it a B+.
