Voetsek
Tinea Cruris 7" (Six Weeks Records)

By: Jeb Branin

This is the debut recording from a band that by this time next year will be one of your favorites. Eleven tracks of thrash that is brash, rowdy, snotty, dark, and violent. VOETSEK are gonna kick you in the throat while they kick out the jams and you're gonna love every second of it. It's refreshing to hear a band that can get as outraged by sweatshirt prices at punk gigs as they do about socio-politcal hyperbole. Why? Because it's punk as hell. When you are at a gig you are more apt to work yourself into a rage by not being able to afford a tour shirt as you are by crazy man George and his war on terrorism. Sure, it may not make sense, may not even be right, but it's real life. If more bands quit trying to be "real" and just were real, I'd be a happy man.
