Slumbering lo-fi indie folk with bittersweet lyrics sung by a man who seems tired, jaded, and somehow bent on getting his tales out to the listener, no matter how much pain or anguish he has to go through to play the songs. You could call this lo-fi emo, for those of you that equate tear-drenched vocals, softness, and raw, heart-on-the-sleeve performances with emo. Then again, you could just say this is a man and a guitar playing songs that mean something to him. However you interpret it, Kind of Like Spitting peel off the flesh and let you see the wounds, gushing, open, and prone to infection. Sometimes the songs slip into complete background quietness, making them easy to forget and ignore. If you pay attention, though, they'll eventually make you want to cry at least once. I'll give it a B-.
