Blind Dog
The Last Adventures Of Captain Dog (Meteor City)

By: Jeb Branin

Oh yeah... BLIND DOG dig down deep to unearth a nitty gritty, back porch blues, southern fried rock n roll vibe that they let run amok throughout their hard hitting "The Last Adventures Of Captain Dog" CD. I'd almost hate to call this metal or doom or Sabbath-esque or rawk because it is all that and more. A lot of heavy throbbing Sabbath influenced bands forget that the primary influence for BLACK SABBATH was the blues but not BLIND DOG. In fact, they tap into that same vein themselves and it makes for a very rich and textured album in spite of the fact it is heavy enough to crush you like a bug under heel. Add to this the aforementioned southern flavor and you have got a serious winner any way you look at it!
