Canned Heat
The Boogie House Tapes (Ruf Records)

By: Alex Steininger

The Boogie House Tapes brings us twenty-nine songs spread out through two discs of 1967-1976 era Canned Heat. A band known for their intense blues and boogie grooves, The Boogie House Tapes does not let down. Serving up monstrous blues with grit and groove, smoking up your speakers and your mind, as you sit back and relax, with a beer in your hand, enjoying everything this band represents. Now, they may not be anything like they were in their prime, but fans can still recall the golden era of the band by delving into this CD, where blues and groove like together, happily. I'll give this an A.
