Rock City Crimewave
Sealed With A Curse (Pig Pile Records)

By: Mark A. Lawrence the IV

When it comes to rock 'n' roll it's amazing what you can do with 4 people, 2 guitars, a bass, and a set of drums. Rock City Crimewave's thick stew of sound punches like a prizefighter, with pounding bass and a blitzkrieg of guitars that envelopes the listener. "Zero High" sounds like a punked-up Doors song, with its amped psychedelic feel. Their mix of sound has an unexplainable Motor City feel that comes from mixing equal parts Rev. Horton Heat and Murder City Devils, bonded together with a potent dose of pure punk emotion. This is a driving rock that makes you forget the shity job, the endless bills, and the line of Ex's who took too much when they left. It's music that fills the senses and pushes everything else out. Its meaty feel will satisfy anyone that loves rock 'n' roll, the kind that comes packing and leaves no prisoners, making Sealed With A Curse a must have CD. Rating: A
