Emo Is Awesome, Emo Is Evil (Deep Elm)

A 'greatest hits', if you will, of Deep Elm Records releases, the little indie label that could (and did, even scoring a profile on MTV at one point), Emo Is Awesome, Emo Is Evil finds the label serving up a plate full of their best 'Emo' offerings. From the poppy, heart on the sleeve tug of Camber, through the mope-y melodies of Pop Unknown, or the crushing excitement of Slowride, the label offers up a rainbow of emo, in every shape and form. Including other label vets such as The Appleseed Cast, Red Animal War, Benton Falls, and Brandtson, Deep Elm Records' Emo Is Awesome, Emo Is Evil is nineteen tracks of the best emo out there. Whether you hate emo, love it, or are indifferent to it, you'll find at least a few bands on here that will move you to tears. I'll give it a B-.
