The And/Ors
Will Self-Destruct (Better Looking Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Charged, guitar-driven power-pop with a slight emo tint, The And/Ors deliver crunchy rock pop nuggets that are filled with juicy hooks, raging rhythms, and plenty of lyrical moments to chew on. Their debut, Will Self-Destruct, is influenced by the proprietors of the sound, from The Replacements to The Pixies, while adding enough to the sound to not be considered knock offs. They take enough from the history lessons to know what to do right up and enough from the rest of their music collection to create sound that is neither boring nor something that gets old fast. Here is a pop album that will grow on you more and more as you listen to it. I'll give it an A.
