Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
Of Natural History (Web of Mimicry)

By: Alex Steininger

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum are an odd bunch. Forging metal with airy, late-night grooves and frightening melodies, they produce a sound that is both creepy and intriguing. Imagine walking down the street at night, an eerie shadow following you. The faster you run, the more it gains on you. As you try to escape you, it tackles you. It is your shadow. Put that to music, it is the sound of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, an oft-perplexing, intricate, and ever-so-confusing sound that is both operatic and spacious in approach. I'll give it a B.
