The Age of Silence
Acceleration (The End Records)

By: Jeb Branin

If we had any luck the AGE OF SILENCE would live up to their name. This is what happens when a band tries to take the dark new wave meandering of bands like THE CURE or even DEPECHE MODE and recreate it into a progressive dark metal. If you like MISSION U.K. and wonder what they would sound like as pretentious post-metallers, then this may be for you. But, it's not for me. The pedigree of this band can't be faulted since it features Lazare (Borknagar, Solefald) on vocals, Eikind (ex. Khold / Tulus) on bass, Hellhammer (Mayhem, Winds, Arcturus) on drums, Andy Winter (Winds) on keyboards, Extant and Kobbergaard (By Pale Light) on guitars, but sometimes the parts are actually greater than the whole. With all the world-class CDs available from The End Records, it would be a shame to choose this one.
