Lilitu
The Delores Lesion (The End Records)

By: Mike SOS

Lilitu sound like a band that has Norwegian bloodlines, but guess again. Hailing from Hotlanta (that's Atlanta to those unfamiliar with the Dirty South), Georgia, this collective's latest release joins the dark atmospheric textures of Swedish death metal with some of the new wave of American metal's current faves for a tantalizing eight-track listening experience. From the sheer power metal beating of tracks like "Even the Vultures Have Moved On" to the lush yet sinister undercurrent of "Desolation Breeds", Lilitu showcase a penchant for the shadowy side of the street, and do so with fangs showing. If you enjoy the melancholic metal of Type O Negative, HIM, and Opeth, then Lilitu will fit right along your best black outfit.
