Burmese/Fistula
Burmese/Fistula (Crucial Blast)

By: Mike SOS

This split EP starts off with 10 tracks by Burmese, a San Francisco based noise brigade whose obvious love for feedback is apparent after the first note of "Your End". The group's penchant for the obscene is also prominently shown with song titles such as "Pay Me in Pain" and the tender love ballad "Spill My Fuck". Lovely. From pulsating noise, we find crusty, angry sludge rock courtesy of Ohio's Fistula. Supplying a four-track offering heaving with sticky sweet stoner rock soul, especially the syrupy "Caterpillar", these merciless merchants of doom will fill your head with the good stuff and single-handedly salvage this split disc.
