Slapshot
Digital Warfare (Bridge 9)

By: Mike SOS

Usually, as a band gets older, things start to mellow a bit. You know how it goes; bands get complacent, live a little better, and rid themselves of the angst and energy that put them in the lofty position in the first place. Not Boston's Slapshot, by any means at all. If anything, the 17-year career of this Beantown hardcore clan has come back to its roots with 12 tracks of angry, visceral hardcore that comes from the heart and hits right in the gut. Tracks like the seething "Straight Edge" and the crunchy "Stupid Fucking Kids" display the same old Slapshot, just as enraged, but a bit wiser. Looking for a band that didn't cash out? You just found them.
