Sense Field
Living Outside (Nettwerk)

By: Alex Steininger

Modern rock with a strong pop sensation, Sense Field's Living Outside captures the formula of power-pop. Guitar-driven, full-of-melody, energetic, spirited rock -- and brings it over into the modern rock world, leaving the glossy production, buzzing guitars, and shiny vocals in place, but ensuring the pop isn't put on the backburner. Crunchy and inviting, Sense Field writes songs you can sing along to; heck, they're so clean-cut, you can't help but sing along. However, after a bit the songs all start to sound the same, and they blend into the background, becoming just another modern rock band. I'll give it a C.
