Stampin' Ground/North Side Kings
Allied Forces (Thorp)

By: Mike SOS

Two of the heaviest hardcore bands have joined forces and have released a split CD of cover songs from the underground. The result is ALLIED FORCES, and up first is the bruising British outfit Stampin' Ground, whose choice of remakes include Judge, Agnostic Front, and the Bay Area thrash unit Vio-lence. There's no chance to catch your breath after the six track assault from Stampin' Ground, as Arizona's North Side Kings enter the melee with six choice cuts of its own. Bands such as SOD, DRI, and Suicidal Tendencies are covered by the quartet, but that's not all. A delicious cover of the theme song from the '80s action show THE A-TEAM is also added and hardcored out for your moshing delight. If that's not enough, then check out both band's versions of the Cro-Mags classic "Malfunction" for optimum destructive behavior.
