Torrez
The Evening Drag (Kimchee Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Torrez play it nice, and safe, but that doesn't mean they don't rock. Their subtle, laid-back, almost slumbering at times brand of pop is sensual and smooth, effortlessly oozing mellow, warm pop vibes. The Evening Drag has its rock 'n' roll features, though. The band is able to keep things sturdy and, when needed, muscular, while the majority of the record plays like musical Vicodin, taking the edge off your pains and calming you down, as you slide back into your chair and nod off to the pop sounds they create. Happy dreams to come, as lead singer Kim Torres' sexy voice plays in your dreams. I'll give it a B+.
