A good rock n' roll film is like--well, it's fuckin' good. Anyone who's seen Velvet Goldmine, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Filth and the Fury, The Last Waltz, This Is Spinal Tap (wink), Songs For Cassavettes or Gimme Shelter will tell you a good rock flick is transcendent, the marriage of concert and cinema transport is an intoxicating blend. 24 Hour Part People, a snapshot of the English music scene from post punk through rave, is no exception. More than 25 years of music is chronicled in an engaging, often comedic narrative spanning two hours. Doing the math, one might think much would be shortchanged. It isn't.
