The 6-Minute Heartstop
321odds (Rise Records)

By: Alex Steininger

More than just your average hardcore/punk band, Portland, Oregon's The 6-Minute Heartstop play homage to their roots properly. They allow the influences to seek into their music, reinterpreting what their favorite bands were doing, and taking upon themselves to do something else, to make their band their own and not a mere carbon copy of others. The result is 321odds, a trippy, spaced-out primitive punk rock-gone-tribal sound that is about the groove and atmosphere as it is the loud, fiery guitars and screaming vocals. A mix of several sounds and styles, they create something that they can happily call The 6-Minute Heartstop. I'll give it a B+.
