The Actual Tigers
Gravelled & Green (Nettwerk America)

By: Alex Steininger

The Actual Tigers' Gravelled & Green is a beautifully crafted, warm pop record, complete with strong melodies, hooks, and a gentle, soothing nature to it. Though, when they want to, they can pick it up, delivering bouncy, loveable pop songs or fun-lovin', groove-laden numbers that tickle you in all the right places and make you want to get up, get outside, and enjoy life. They can also do the slow, enriched acoustic songs with strings and touching lyrics that make you want to take sit back and think about life. No matter what they're doing, though, The Actual Tigers are always uplifting, choosing warm, positive pop melodies over sad, dark ones. This is a positive, soothing pop album that is very enjoyable from start to finish. I'll give it an A+.
