Tweaker
The Attraction To All Things Uncertain (Six Degrees Records)

By: Alex Steininger

The debut solo album from Chris Vrenna, best known as a collaborator of Trent Reznor in Nine Inch Nails, Vrenna has also contributed his production and remixing skills to such artists as Nelly Furtado, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, and Rob Zombie, to name a few. With Tweaker, his solo band, Vrenna delivers eerie, electronica-based free form rock songs.

Scattered about, but meticulously crafted and placed throughout, the song structures hit you with an odd, quirky dimension, before making you succumb to their unconventional methods, catapulting them straight through your mind and into your subconscious.

This is music made by a musician's musician, so articulate and pinpoint accurate, yet flawed to perfection, Tweaker's inducing, intoxicating style will please many fans of Nine Inch Nails (though this sounds nothing like NIN), as well as electronica and ambient listeners alike. I'll give it an A.15
