The Angoras
The Angoras (Slewfoot)

By: Geoff Melton

Don't let the pretty pink cover and cute Powerpuff Girls looking cartoon of the band inside the liner notes fool you, this three girl, one guy Southern California band is not another talentless girlie group spitting out brainless pop. On their eponymous debut EP The Angoras mesh a catchy, garage rock groove with bits of surf, pop, punk and some camp into a hook-heavy sound that keeps you coming back for more. It's like The Go-Go's partying with Courtney Love and The Cramps at The B-52's "Love Shack".
