Redefine The Rockstar: Volume 2 (3:16 Productions)

By: Jeb Branin

"Redefine The Rockstar" is yet another compilation that proves the underground music scene is ripe with an uncountable number of extremely talented bands who are pounding it out in obscurity for the sheer love of music and a passion for using that music to connect to others. There isn't really a rhyme or reason that I can identify to the bands chosen for this compilation other than they all rock and all represent different facets of the underground and/or local scenes. It is a good mix of bands/styles/genres and there is something for everyone. There is smash mouth metal that will nail the lid on your coffin courtesy of bands like ORCUS and LAW BYTING CITIZENS, stellar pop guitar punk from the likes of 5 CENT DEPOSIT, PUTRID FLOWERS and POWERSUGE, hard hitting garage rock from SOS, smooth college rock from LIVING PROOF, second rate post-death mush metal from CHARNEL HOUSE and SALTED WOUNDS, hip hop street metal from XASHINTO, headbangin' hyper paced retro 80s metal from THE BLAME, and neo-doom heavily influenced by TROUBLE, HELLION, SLAYER courtesy of DARLING DEMONIC. With 21 tracks by 21 bands there are naturally some real duds like LIFE OF RILEY but that is what the skip button was invented for.
