Apoptygma Bezerk
7 (Tantra Productions)

By: DJ Dysdynia

In a short period of time, Apoptygma Bezerk, has raced to the top of the European gothic/industrial charts. "Non-Stop Violence" is the number 1 dance track in America and Europe. This CD is graced with evil Pet Shop Boys overtones, strong beats and mesmerizing keyboards. "7" is filled with a variable of sounds and styles. It begins with ceremonial church organs and then kicks into an electronic symphony with an occasional sample of the powerful classical excerpt "O' Fortuna" by Carl Orff. Further along it pumps up with the beat strong "Non-Stop Violence" and then slows it down with the ballad "Love Never Dies." Apoptygma created an instant familiarity in the album by using popular samples from Nirvana, Liabach, Aphex Twins and Depeche Mode. "7" is a consistently good album through and through that envelops variety with a familiar sounds in a new twist.
