WAR Dance - A War Music Compilation (Relapse Records)

 Wrong Again Records is gone but its corpse walks as WAR music. This label sampler is a mix of old Wrong Again artists and the new roster on WAR. WAR is destined for a much higher profile in the United States than Wrong Again ever achieved because the marketing and distribution of WAR on this side of the pond has been taken over by Relapse Records who have finally decided to remarry after their unfortunate divorce from Nuclear Blast. The sampler is a good teaser for the label although it highlights the inconsistency of the WAR bands. Strong tracks by the likes of DIMENSION ZERO and CARNAL FORGE are contrasted by the mediocrity of bands like NAGLFAR. Some of my favorite moments are courtesy of CRYPTOPSY and ARCH ENEMY two Wrong Again bands who have made the jump to other labels.
