Deeds Of Flesh
Inbreeding the Anthropophagi (Repulse Records)

By: Jeb Branin

As early as their first demo "Gradually Melted" (which blew me away), DEEDS OF FLESH has demonstrated that it may be the best gore band in the underground. Unlike most of their peers, the cheesy lyrics and image have always taken a back seat to the superior metal. On this, their second full length for Repulse, DOF show that they have mastered CARCASS influenced grind. The dual sewer vocals and the blasting rhythms are underscored by complex, yet crushing, guitars. Consistently fast and always destructive this album will ride the crest of the reincarnation of death metal's dominance of the underground. Although recorded as a three piece the band has now wisely expanded to four pieces for the first time in their career. There is no way that sick minions of gore and disciples of demented death won't flip for this.
