King Bravo selects SKA authentic volume 2
Tricia & The Supersonics (Miss Jamaica meets the Skatalites) (Moon Ska Records)

By: Alex Steininger

What do you get when you put the talented vocals of Miss Jamaica 1996 together with the legends of ska, The Skatalites? You get some great traditional ska that will make you move, groove, and dance until your legs go out from under you!

King Bravo brings us a treat with Tricia Grant (Miss Jamaica 1996) and her beautiful voice that brings so much to the music! Track one, "I Shall Not Remove," has it all. Great ska guitar, a soothing horn section, and the vocals that will melt your heart like butter. Every word that comes out of Tricia's mouth is so powerful, but at the same time soothing and relaxing. Whether you want to dance, or just want to sit back rest your feet, this album provides you with the option for both. "Be Honest With Me," starts out with a little keyboards, and then the song comes together with the rest of the band, led by the great horn section and the gentle vocals. Track four, "Skain' Tommy McCook Style," gives Tricia a chance to rest her beautiful voice. But don't worry, The Supersonics will lead you through some great times with this instrumental track. This is a beautifully crafted song, lead by the strong horn section. Track seven, "Please Help Me I'm Falling," combines beautiful keyboards, spectacular horns, and vocals with the rest of the band, to set the mood for a wonderful evening. Track ten, "Mr. Ska Macka Sterling," finishes off the album with you wanting more. Whether it be your love for the keyboards, the bright and beautiful horn section, or the way this instrumental track makes you feel when your listening to it, you'll find yourself scrambling to hear this CD many more times! You might even find yourself canceling a few plans just to sit at home and listen to this brilliant CD.

With the help of the geniuses behind Moon Ska Records, King Bravo proves that he knows his ska! This CD is nothing short of spectacular. A definite A+ for this CD! I recommend you hurry as fast as you can and pick up a copy! You won't want to miss out on this CD, I promise!
