It's All About Immature
By: Stephanie Ocampo

Welcome to the debut edition on In Music We Trust. This column, "It's All About Immature" will be featured in every issue. "It's All About Immature" was created by myself to update all of Immature's many adoring fans. Fans will be able to have access to concert dates, promotional tours, video premieres, etc. If you are one of the very few people who are uneducated about this handsome teen trio, you need to climb out from under your rock and learn about them before you become an outcast of society.

Immature is a Los Angeles based R&B teen trio consisting of members Marques "Batman" Houston, Jerome "Romeo" Jones, and Kelton "LDB" Kessee. These three talented young men blew up the charts with their platinum single "Never Lie", released in summer of '94. Girls everywhere instantly fell in love with Immature's love ballads and handsome faces. "Never Lie" and its follow-up single "Constantly" helped their sophomore album, "Playtyme is Over" reach platinum heights. Since '94, Immature has appeared on numerous television shows such as: All That (Nickelodeon), Regis & Kathie Lee, Sally Jesse Raphael, and BET's Video Soul. Member Batman also has a starring role in the sitcom "Sister, Sister" which appears on the WB Network.

Back in the days, Immature was not as loved and admired as they are now in present day 1997. They have overcome many obstacles and made many changes. Immature's debut album, "On Our Worst Behavior" was recorded by Immature's three original members. The album did not sell well in stores and Immature's fan base was extremely small. Their image and style drove many potential fans away. Immature's bright exaggerated hats and oversized clothes went a little bit too overboard. Batman, Romeo, and Half Pint landed small roles in the movie "House Party 3" and on the now difunct sitcom "A Different World".The three original members did not include current member LDB. LDB, Immature's long time drummer became a vital third of Immature after former member Don "Half Pint" Santos who left the group due to the demands of his parents. After the addition on LDB to the group, many other changes began to take place. Batman described their new image as being " more toned down and at a level that kids and adults can relate to". Immature began to start trends everywhere with their hair and clothes. As Immature grew more mature, their fan base increased greatly and is still growing as you are reading this. The songs recorded by the "new Immature" are more mature and that is what the public wants. The changes Immature has made with their image and style has proved to be successful. All of their die-hard fans can tell you that. I can say this because I am one of these fans.

"It's All About Immature" is the average fans' guide to Immature. Every one of Immature's appearances will be recorded monthly in this newsletter. So, if you were one of Immature's many fans who could never find out how to sneak a peek of these three fine young men, this article is the answer to all your prayers.

Now to get onto the real purpose of this article. This summer is going to be one Immature will surely remember. They are currently working on their new album entitled "The Journey", which is due out in store by mid-August. "The Journey" may prove to be another image and style change for Immature. Tracks include a collaboration with hip hop all star Daz of Tha Dogg Pound. World famous Bone Thugs & Harmony also lend Immature their lyrical skills on one of the tracks. After "The Journey" is released, Immature will begin a promotional tour in late August or early September that will reach any major city in the U.S.

I hope my fellow Immature fans are now satisfied with this update. Be sure to keep reading for more information on your favorite teen trio.
